Calendar and Schedule — Écoles Arabes de Montréal

EADM is currently fully online

EADM currently offers all classes online. Students attend remotely with their teachers and actively participate in learning activities.

Class Organization

The school offers 4 hours of instruction per week, divided into two 2-hour sessions. Exact days and times are communicated to parents according to the student’s level and group.

Classes on Zoom

Online classes are delivered using Zoom. Students participate in live classes with their teacher.

Classes may include:

  • explanations;
  • exercises;
  • reading;
  • writing;
  • comprehension activities;
  • communication activities;
  • review;
  • assessments;
  • interaction with the teacher and other students.

Before Class

Parents should ensure that the student has:

  • a compatible device;
  • a stable Internet connection;
  • the Zoom application;
  • a working microphone;
  • a camera when required;
  • the required textbooks;
  • the materials needed for class.

We recommend preparing the child a few minutes before the session begins.

A Supportive Learning Environment

Even though instruction is online, students should have a quiet space suited to learning. Regular attendance and participation are important for continued progress.

The Role of Parents

Parents play an important role in online learning. They are encouraged to:

  • check the schedule;
  • help the child connect on time;
  • make sure the child has the necessary materials;
  • provide a quiet environment;
  • follow school communications;
  • support the child with assignments and review.
2026–2027 School Year Classes begin: September 26, 2026 · Classes end: May 29, 2027 · 4 hours per week, divided into two 2-hour sessions.

Program

Students follow a structured Arabic language and Islamic education program. Levels offered are: Kindergarten, Preparatory Class, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, Level 5 and Special Class.

The school calendar includes the year’s main dates: start and end of classes, breaks, holidays, assessment periods, exams, special activities, school events and the end-of-year celebration.

Calendar Communications

The detailed school calendar will be sent to parents by email. Any significant changes will also be communicated to families.

Assessments and Exams

Assessments help monitor student progress and verify learning throughout the year. They may cover the various skills developed in the Arabic language and Islamic education program.

Exams are organized according to the program and student level. Exact exam dates will be communicated to parents by email. Parents will receive advance information about procedures and what students need to prepare.

Progress Monitoring

Results and observations allow teachers and the academic director to monitor student progress and identify areas requiring additional work.
