Arabic Language and Islamic Education Program
The Écoles Arabes de Montréal (EADM) program is based on two areas of instruction:
Arabic Language
Arabic language instruction aims to progressively develop students’ language skills according to their age and level.
Learning includes:
- reading;
- writing;
- comprehension;
- vocabulary;
- pronunciation;
- oral expression;
- written expression;
- language concepts adapted to the student’s level.
The goal is to enable each student to progress gradually and develop stronger command of Arabic.
Islamic Education
Islamic education allows students to acquire knowledge suited to their age and level. Students progressively discover concepts and values related to Islamic education.
Instruction may include:
- the fundamental principles and concepts of Islam;
- Islamic values;
- good manners and conduct;
- respect for parents;
- respect for others;
- responsibility;
- the life of the Prophet ﷺ;
- teachings and stories appropriate to students’ age;
- religious practices and concepts appropriate to the student’s level.
Progress Adapted to Each Student
Educational content is adapted to each student’s level to support gradual progress. Students are placed according to their knowledge and Arabic language skills.
An assessment may be conducted when necessary to determine the appropriate level.
Learning Resources in Our Program
As part of its Arabic language program, EADM uses a textbook collection that supports students as they progress and serves as an important resource for classes and learning activities.
The textbooks are used during online classes and may also be used for exercises, review and homework.
